Geometric Lines Meet Floral

Dress, c/o eShakti. Jacket, Old Navy. Purse & Clutch, Lulus. Sunnies, Ray Ban.

I was very excited when eShakti reached out to collaborate. I checked out their site and was pleased with their assortment of skirts, tops, and dresses. And was even more impressed when I learned that the garments are customizable for fit and style! I was immediately drawn to the Graphic Floral Print Contrast Trim Dress because of its striking contrast of the white against black geometric lines. Which also happens to be a F/W 2014 trend. Really enjoying that geometric lines interlock with floral print.

The red and orange florals easily transition this dress from Summer to Fall. While I kept the dress true to its original design (it was too perfect to tamper with!) I was able to shorten the hemline. I shortened it to a true ‘above the knee’ length (being a shortie, ‘above the knee’ typically sits lower on me). Oh, and did I mention the quick turnaround? The whole process (including custom sizing and shipping) took two weeks to reach my door. I definitely recommend checking eShakti out! And to help you play around with your own custom garment, eShakti is offering all House of Illusions readers 10% off* until 10/10/2014 using promo code ‘houseofillusions’.

end of summer daze

Bikini top, One Teaspoon (Nasty Gal). Top, bebe. Shorts, Hollister. Gladiators, Aldo. Shades, Joe Fresh.

Recycled this peach crochet cami and One Teaspoon bikini (which I have to admit has turned out to be one of the best investments I have made recently) for one last outing on the beach. We spent most of our summer cruising around and exploring new turf, staying up all night stargazing, even managed to catch a few of our favourite bands live. I’m really bummed that it’s over but am looking forward to what Fall has to bring: denim, flannel shirts, lace, and cute knits. Hope you all had a wonderful summer as well – what are some of your fave memories?
