Buckled

Knit, Booties, Pink Martini. Tank, Wilfred (Aritzia). Leggings, Dex Clothing. Purse, Rebecca Minkoff. Sunnies, Celine.

Sometimes all a girl needs to properly enjoy Fall is simply having the right pieces in her closet. Pieces that make you smile when you look at them. But most importantly, ones that are effective for the season. For me, that meant the addition of a light knit sweater and buckled ankle boots sans the heel to my Fall lineup.

Not sure how I overlooked black booties in the first place. However, kinda glad I did because these ones just came out from Pink Martini. In addition, they had all the features I was looking for in a Fall boot: buckled ankle boots in black. Plus they also have some studded detailing which I love. It’s always a bonus when you’re able to find an item with all features you had in mind.

I also grabbed a lightweight grey knit (which looks like a lot my other sweaters) but I guess at times you can’t help it…you like what you like. I’ve never been a fan of huge bulky sweaters, typically opting for lighter ones and just layering the sh!t out of them, depending on how cold it is. Worn with vegan leather leggings over a lace tank. What are some of your Fall staples/new seasonal additions to your wardrobe?

Enjoy your day! xo

I’ve been collecting concert tee‘s for some time now and I’ve amassed quite the collection over the years. I make it a point to only buy them when at concerts and at times I’ve had to cut myself off after seeing the same band multiple times. Case in point this Iron Maiden band tee. But I love them, and I’d wear them with anything if I could. Which leads me to a topic I’ve been wanting to write about for some time now…

I struggle when I can’t be myself. At work for example. Oftentimes I find myself wondering if I’m the only one that feels this way. I see others who seemingly have no issues wearing “work appropriate” clothing, yet I loathe every minute of when I’m not me. The Clark Kent/Superman routine after work is getting tiring. Sometimes I wonder if it’s because I’m an artist (true to the typical stereotype) and if that is why I find this limitation such an infringement of my BEING. (As I express myself visually). Do any of you struggle with having to conform to someone else’s idea of what one should wear?

Whether it be work attire or school uniforms I think that one of the most important things about being who you are is being able to express it. Or having the freedom to do so. When our ability to express ourselves is limited, it hinders our passion drives and makes for a miserable environment. That being said, I completely understand it would not be appropriate for me to walk into work waring my Iron Maiden band tee. Alas, maybe I should be at home instead, sitting on my floor in a band tee with over the knee socks, brush in hand over a canvas, Iron Maiden tunes blaring in the background. I’d be elated no doubt, just not sure that my adult bills would get paid.

Thoughts anyone?

Was feelin’ that 70’s vibe again so I got my inner hippie out with these bell sleeves and button front denim skirt. Added a woolly knit vest because it just seemed right, being Autumn and all. I feel I should point out that these cowboy booties and saddle bag have been on repeat lately. I’m not sure that I own more comfortable shoes than these booties at the moment. Which is exactly why I’ve been wearing them so much as I wore out my everyday flats. Both pairs. And have not found a comparable replacement yet.
