Frozen

Skirt & faux fur stole, vintage. Cardigan, H&M. Slip, Jones New York. Purse, Marc Jacobs. Boots, Winners. Collar necklace, Nasty Gal. Ring, Samantha Wills.

Wearing a vintage lace midi skirt as a dress, accessorized with a faux fur stole and gold bohemian inspired accessories. I used a black slip (worn in between the lace and fabric layer of the skirt) to create the appearance of a two-tone dress…ensuring to hike it up accordingly so as not to obscure the delicate lace detailing of the skirt revealed at the hemline.

Happy Wednesday!

The Ecstasy of Gold*

Hoodie, TNA (Aritzia). Tee (old). Skirt, Guess. Scarf, H&M. Purse, Marc Jacobs. Boots, Winners. Sunnies, Dolce & Gabbana.
Ring, Rachel Roy.

I have never been a fan of gold, but with it being everywhere the past few seasons I couldn’t help but succumb to it. I have actually come to enjoy playing with little bits of gold details. As such, this look was inspired by the gold clasp in the belt and eventually improvised with other pieces as I went along.

Enjoy your day!

*Aptly named The Ecstasy of Gold while listening to Metallica‘s S&M album.

Aidan Mattox lace dress

Dress, Aidan Mattox (Holt Renfrew). Coat, Guess. Boots, Dollhouse (Lulus) here. Purse, Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Picked up this pretty lace number from Holt’s the other day. And at the same time discovering designer Aidan Mattox, while on the search to find thee perfect cocktail dress; elegantly crafted lace, sophistication, and a pretty feminine cut with just enough pouf presented itself to me on a hanger. The layer of lace sits beautifully over neutral fabric and tulle layers that gives this piece that exact elegant and Victorian/Vintage feel I had been after. Chic and glamorous cocktail/party dresses; check out the Fall 2014 lineup. xo
