Top, bralette, Nasty Gal. Jeans, 7 For All Mankind. Shoes, Pink Martini. Purse, Chocolate. Sunnies, Foster Grant.

When it comes to brand name denim, I’ve always been a Rock & Republic kinda girl. I’m also very loyal so I seldom stray away from something that I like. That being said, I have never owned, or even so much as tried on, a pair of 7 for all Mankind jeans. Well…the other day when I was trying on jeans, my size only seemed to be available in a pile of 7 Jeans and so I gave them a shot. Holy smokes – where have these jeans been all my life!? (Well apparently everywhere, I was just too busy avoiding them) Not only did they fit PERFECTLY, but they have got to be the most comfiest jeans I have ever owned! (They feel like a nice pair of soft yoga pants – none of that stiff denim feel).

I usually struggle with finding jeans (or even pants) with a proper waist to hip ratio for my body type. Hence a lot of times I end up having to buy a size up just to get them over my hips only to be left with a baggy waistline. But not with these bad boys – snug as a bug! 7 For All Mankind jeans indeed – I am a newly converted believer! Styled here with Nasty Gal summer staples (crochet knit + bralette).

What are some of your favourite jean brands, and how do you find they fit?

Jacket, Guess. Scarf, Zara. Dress, old (similar here). Hat, Olive & Pique. Boots, Town Shoes. Purse, Marc Jacobs. Ring, Samantha Wills. Sunnies, Foster Grant.

Our weather has been so up and down lately. One minute it feels like Spring, the next day it’s snowing. Not that I mind, but it leads to a bit of chaos in outfit coordination. So I’ve opted for layering to keep up with the weather madness.

Here I’m wearing a button front dress with a wool jacket, blanket scarf, and over the knee boots, because it turned out to be a bit more cold than expected. On a warmer day this same dress could easily have been worn with a shorter jacket and booties, sans the blanket scarf.

Hope you had a fab weekend!

recycling vintage pieces Faux fur coat, H&M (old). Knit, Garage. Jeans, Flats, Zara. Clutch, c/o Pinkstix. Sunnies, Foster Grant. Ring, Samantha Wills.

Wearing a (what I will call vintage) faux fur coat from H&M. Styled with skinny jeans and lace up flats overtop a crochet crop layered over a long sleeve tee. I’ve had this coat for a very long time and only worn it a handful of times. But it’s a piece I’ve come to enjoy more over the years. Having learned the very hard way (and having lost some great vintage pieces along the way) that everything comes back into style. Therefore now I make it a habit to keep pieces and re-introduce them into my wardrobe when the time calls for it.

One of the things I like about recycling vintage pieces is having a unique garment amongst other mass produced items of their time. While still representing the season’s most coveted feature in your own unique way. One thing to keep in mind when purchasing said items (like say a faux fur coat or even OTK boots) is to capture the unique trend without going overboard. This will make your piece a timeless classic.

We took these photos after running errands downtown then stopping in for cappuccino at Liberty Village thanks to the Ritual app. Which kept us on schedule. Bypass the lineup with this little beauty and get straight to your coffee (or other treats as ordered) when you walk in. Have a look see for yourself what cute little coffee shops and fun places to eat at participate in the ritual. Click here to get $10 in credits to try Ritual for yourself. (Good for the downtown Toronto area). Enjoy!
