Sometimes blog posts have no exciting story to go with them. For instance this would be one of them. Really nothing of note here. It’s been a while since I’ve worn this button front denim skirt, and  so I thought it would go well with this lavender top. In addition to that, it now also matches my lavender hair. As much I liked my purple hair I am really loving how it faded into this lavender hair. I wish it could stay this way forever!

Wore this for an outing to grab some pumpkin spiced lattes with my boo. Hope y’all had a great weekend, did you get up to anything exciting?

10 Ways to Style a Fur Stole

How to style a fur stole - 10 Ways to Style a Fur Stole

The fur stole is around for another season and is one of Fall’s hottest accessories. Personally, I couldn’t be happier as I do enjoy these furry (faux of course) accessories. Faux fur stoles are a great layering piece, often making a statement on their own. Not to mention they help to keep one warm. As such, I have come up with 10 different ways to style a fur stole. Some including adding other fun accessories like a brooch, belted with a skinny belt and even layered over a blanket scarf.

Hope you enjoyed my post on different ways to style a fur stole. My favourite way of styling a fur stole at the moment is wearing it with a skinny belt. Do you have a different way of wearing yours? What are your favourite ways to style a fur stole? Please share in the comments section.

Happy styling!

Velvet blazer with bralette

Jacket, old (similar here). Skirt c/o SevenTwo Denim. Bralette, Nasty Gal. Purse c/o Pinkstix. Shoes, Lulus.

This pretty little denim pencil skirt should have been mine weeks ago. But our postal office was on a strike for some time and I have a feeling my skirt was an innocent bystander to all that chaos. Finally making it’s way to me weeks after having been mailed out. However, now looking back on it, that created a most favourable delay. While I had intended to style this skirt in a summer outfit I was forced to style it for Fall. Which I really liked.

I immediately tried the skirt on upon receipt having been anxious on the fit – and it fit like a dream! Now at the time when I was trying it on I had on a bralette and the oh so snug (yet comfortable) fit of the pencil skirt was giving off total pinup girl vibes. Styled with the bralette it was worthy of its own look. After having tried it on (with no clue on what I would wear it with for this post) I made my way downstairs and we ended up watching Seinfeld reruns. The first episode my boyfriend put on was the one with the bra (The Caddy) and the little light bulb went off above my head shortly after Sue Ellen Mischke left Elaine’s office, leaving Elaine annoyed at how she wore her new bra.

I had always wanted to wear a bralette with only a jacket over, but just had never done it yet for whatever reason. (Maybe it was the concern that if not done right this look can easily look trashy instead of classy) but this skirt had such an elegant and classy feel to it, that I figured was worth a try. It also gave me the chance to revive a velvet blazer I had picked up in Atlanta some years ago (and never really worn), taking full advantage of velvet being on trend this season. And that my friends, is how this outfit came to be. Has anything like this ever happened to any of you? I’d love to hear about it!
