I’ve been crushing over the palm leaf print for some time now. And my lust for leaves dreams came true after receiving this Hawaiian Nights Bodycon dress from Tobi. This print is perfection to me and couldn’t represent summer any better. The fact that the style is a bodycon was simply bonus, and I must say it fits perfectly and is super comfy. I think this print is the epitome of summer, although sadly Toronto does not have palm trees growing about.

I opted for white accessories to compliment the background of the print, and purposely chose a black chunky sandal so as not to be too matchy matchy with the white. All the while creating a nice contrast in compliment to the leaf outlines. The cut and back detail is true to the season while staying elegant and classy. I used a head scarf with a bow on the side to complete the look. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t already daydreaming about wearing it again. It would even work well on a cooler summer night with a white cardi and some sneakers. Check out some more pretty items from Tobi, and note that all new Tobi customers get 50% off their first order! Enjoy!

One trend I am really enjoying this summer is pairing a crop top with a full skirt or high-waisted pants. It’s a great way to reveal a little bit of skin while keepin’ it classy. Now don’t get me wrong, every outfit has it’s occasion and there’s nothing wrong with baring it all in the right setting. But for a dinner date night this outfit had me feeling trendy without showing off too much skin.

Now, the skirt. When I saw it I was immediately drawn to the baroque style print as I hadn’t seen a floral print quite as exquisite as this in a while. I must mention that this skirt was spotted during a thrifting session and it was a tad bit too big. However, at $7.49 this skirt was coming home with me no matter what. Typically I would have worn it with a white or black top but decided to be a bit adventurous for myself (as I tend to prefer sticking to monochromatic dark hues) and paired it with a bright pink fuschia top that I’ve had for ages.

What about you, what are some gems you’ve found while thrifting?
