NYX Prom

Had the pleasure of attending prom hosted by NYX Cosmetics held at a lovely venue on Queen St E in Toronto. For the look, I did not want to go with a traditional style dress so instead I opted for a top + skirt combo for that two piece effect. Paired a Diane von Furstenberg gold tiered skirt (circa 2010) with a simple black knit tank threaded with gold to compliment the skirt. Dior clutch and lace up sandals with some statement jewelry completed the look for NYX Prom.

The NYX Prom event was illuminated with pink lighting and decor. It was also equipped with photo booths, makeup stations and resinated with the baddest jams from the 90’s. Amongst some really vibrant makeup of special note were the pink makeup sponges. Ummm…how adorable!?

Ovest Cucina e Vineria

Highlights from the Pre-Tiff Event at Ovest Cucina e Vineria last week.

The ambiance at Ovest was very warm and inviting. Giving one an impression of being within a winery based on the choice of decor.

Food selections for the event were splendid and consisted of: Roasted Porchetta and Herns, Roasted Ribeye, Crostini with Ricotta Cheese and Tomato, Smoked Swordfish Carpaccio bites, Italian meatballs, Caprese Skewers, Risotto Radicchio and Barolo Wine, and Ovest’s specialty pizza.

Ovest’s specialty cocktails for the night were Mojitos, Greey Goose Spritz, and Cherry Soda.

Caribana

Hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend! Just putting together a quick post from Caribana this weekend. For those of you that aren’t from Toronto, Caribana (aka Toronto Caribbean Carnival), is a festival of Caribbean culture and traditions which is held every summer in our city. The parade features beautiful and vibrant floats and costumes that move to steel pan, soca and calypso music. There are also vendors selling some amazing authentic food. The weather was absolutely perfect and this soca junkie enjoyed every minute of it. Here are a few shots from the festival.
