To keep up my fascination with short hemlines and tall boots I went on a hunt for a new miniskirt. I ended up finding this gorgeous wool blend skirt from Aritzia. I don’t know what it is, but I always tend to gravitate towards Wilfred pieces when shopping at Aritzia, and this Wilfred wrap front skirt was no exception. It works so well with over the knee boots and I paired it with my favourite lace up pink sweater, which you’ve all seen a couple of times now. Continue reading “City Bohemian”
What I’m Wearing This Festival Season: Chambray Maxi Skirt
With festival season just around the corner (and 4 wicked concerts booked to date) I couldn’t be more excited for summer. One item that was definitely lacking in my closet (which in my opinion is a festival season must): a chambray maxi skirt. Continue reading “What I’m Wearing This Festival Season: Chambray Maxi Skirt”
The Cat Bow Tie…and Pink Hair
Dress, H&M. Stole, Guess. Bow tie c/o Versum. Boots, BP c/o Nordstrom. Rings, Child of Wild.
One of the fun things about blogging is that at times it pushes ones creativity in experimenting with different things. As such, when Versum offered me a piece out of their bow tie collection my eyes caught the cat bow tie. Getting over the initial thought of how would a girl wear a bow tie, it really didn’t matter anymore. Because the cat bow tie had spoken to me. Meow. Well, it spoke to the inner crazy cat lady in me. And aptly named ‘toronto’ – how could a cat loving girl who grew up in Toronto refuse? I also really like the fact that Versum is local (in Toronto) and the bow ties are handcrafted right here…Making me feel like I was part of something special.
Given a bowtie is somewhat formal wear I tried to think of a fun – yet practical way a gal could wear one. Couldn’t think of a better way to style it than with pink. And of course as I write this I realize that I haven’t addressed the fact that I have pink hair in these photos. Well the truth is I didn’t go back to blonde by choice, so when I had an opportunity to participate in the L’Oreal Colorista campaign I jumped at the chance to try a pink shade. So that’s how the pink hair came about (more info on my Instagram).
To complete the look I added some fun accessories: faux fur stole, white fishnets and burgundy velvet ankle boots. This feels like a perfect look for cocktails. So no better time to channel the inner crazy cat lady in me than now; with a pink dress and pink hair…and a cat bowtie.
