Picked up this pretty lace number from Holt’s the other day. And at the same time discovering designer Aidan Mattox, while on the search to find thee perfect cocktail dress; elegantly crafted lace, sophistication, and a pretty feminine cut with just enough pouf presented itself to me on a hanger. The layer of lace sits beautifully over neutral fabric and tulle layers that gives this piece that exact elegant and Victorian/Vintage feel I had been after. Felt like mixing prints and textures. The end result being plaid with embroidered lace. With a hint of neutrals to tie everything together. Actually I was surprised at how well this combo worked out. What are some of your favourite prints and textures to mix?
