With week 13 of our quarantine ending we are finally starting to see some of our social distancing restrictions being eased with regards to Covid-19. Even still, the idea of going out to take outfit photos seems like a strange notion right now. Fashionably, I had begun to hit rock bottom and so I made the
conscious effort to wear less leggings and track pants around the house. The warmer weather rolling in definitely made it easier to ditch the track pants in favour of cute denim shorts and summer dresses.
We took these photos in the yard last week. To be honest, I had my reservations about taking photos here, but …quarantine. Right in the middle of the yard is an old over grown fire pit from the previous owners. Shane had already created a fire pit in a completely different area and so we’ve never used this one. Over the last year it has turned into a glorified weed garden.
But because we’re actually in the middle of dismantling this overgrown fire pit and creating our first flower garden I figured we may as well document some before photos.
Otherwise I would never show you this hot mess. Although I must mention, we did move the wishing well into the pit just for these photos. (It had been sitting along the back trees originally.) Having said all that, please don’t mind my weed garden for now. We’ll consider these the wishing well garden before photos.
2020 has definitely had its twists. I’ve never spent so much time in the kitchen cooking or washing dishes. While I picked up new baking and cooking skills, the most surprising has been the gardening. Although it was one of my 2020 goals pre-Covid but I think the goal at the time was only an herb garden. Never thought we’d be creating our first flower garden together and especially planting vegetables – but here we are.
Looking forward to sharing the gardening reveals with you soon. Have a wonderful week and stay safe!
