Road Trip Essentials: Must-Have Clothing

Road trip season is finally here and there is no better way to spend a day or afternoon than exploring new places or towns nearby. Day trips are fun and while they don’t require too much planning today, I’m sharing my must-have clothing and accessory daytripping essentials.

Dressing for the occasion. Cute rompers are always a favourite for afternoons spent gallivanting. Case in point this lil’ number I found at the Guess Factory Store for under $50. Pink and with a tropical print? Not to mention the lace up bustier style making this my fave summer piece at the moment.

What I love most about rompers is how comfortable they are. And also, how they mimic mini summer dresses but without the worry of accidentally showing off backside. Which isn’t something you really want to worry about while hiking or running around exploring. The only downside of wearing a romper is when you have to go to the bathroom – but not that big of a deal in my opinion.

Next day trip essential is a roomy tote bag. Loving this pink gem I found at Bench for 65% off at Dixie Outlet Mall. With a cute pink canvas bag like this you’ll be looking for any excuse to pack it with a towel and head to the beach.

A chic pair of sunnies is a must have while driving. As well as a hat for exploring outside of the car. Both of these on-trend designer pieces were up to 55% off at the Dixie Winners. The Tahari sunglasses and Nine West panama hat were both under $20.

A linen shirt is perfect for summer, especially when travelling. Linen helps to keep cool in the heat and can make for a great beach cover up. It also comes in handy for keeping warm on cooler summer mornings and nights. I found this casual and loose style linen shirt 35% off retail also at the Winners.

Last thing I usually like to grab before heading out is a beach towel and some candles because you never know where you will end up. Was so happy to find this flamingo beach towel that is large enough for two for under $20. And in case you’re wondering about the candles, I usually like to have some on hand in the event of a spontaneous stay at a hotel/motel. Nothing like having your own familiar scents/fragrances at $5/candle in the event you need to change the scent of a room. Both the flamingo beach towel and candles are from the Dixie Winners.
