Well you guys I have to tell ya, living the country life isn’t without its ups and downs. It’s true how they say you typically take things for granted until you have to do without. For instance water. That being said, having grown up in Toronto I never worried about water; where it came from or so much as how it made its way to the sink or shower.
Until last week. Having only moved in to the countryside a few months ago it’s been a bit of an adjustment overall. Mostly with the water because it is completely off the grid. Being of that ‘city way of life’ not having to worry about utilities mentality we completely neglected to stay on top of the water filtration system. Since the water out here is not municipally supplied we rely on well water that runs through a filtration system to make it safe for drinking/use. To make a long story short we ended up with a filter that was overdue for a change thus making the water no bueno.
Filter change seemed easy enough. However, something so simple as not having the proper water filter wrench to remove the housing (because apparently yes there is such a thing) essentially rendered the whole system useless. It took a few days to finally track down this next to impossible to find wrench, in another town. But man was I ever glad once we got proper running water again – the things we take for granted. Other than not having water for a few days all good living the country life out here in the forest – can’t wait for spring to turn everything a luscious green.
On a side note, after resolving the water fiasco we were finally able to shoot some new looks. Got lots of spring content lined up for ya so I’m looking forward to posting more consistently. Stay tuned, xo.
