Don’t be fooled – winter ain’t done with us yet. Even though yesterday felt like spring I know better than to
put the winter jacket away. Actually, if anything, now is a time to break out the winter’s-almost-over-but-spring-ain’t-here-yet kinda jacket. Because I’ve accepted that we’ve got at least another month, or two, of winter left.
It’s weird…Every year sometime in January we get a warm spell and seem to forget about winter. Shane shuts me down really quickly by reminding me that winter typically is at it’s harshest during the Auto show, which runs mid February here in Toronto. Every year the same thing happens so I’ve come to learn from it. And I’m not mad about it. Instead of bitching about how damn cold it is outside I’ve lined up some cute and weather appropriate pieces to get me through the last few months of winter.
Besides stocking up on a few pink sweaters, I’ve added this cute black and white plaid Wilfred sweater coat into the mix. Hands down my fave item this winter season and I’m looking forward to wearing it well into spring. The Neelam jacket is actually perfect for this time of year in that it makes a great winter to spring transitional jacket. The wool blend is great for this kinda weather as it’s not too thick or puffy. Rather, it is more lightweight and warm enough for winter (especially when layered up with a chunky knit and scarf).
Typically I only own puffer jackets/parkas or lightweight spring jackets. Which means that I end up struggling with outerwear on mild winter days because it’s not quite cold enough to justify a parka, yet spring jackets aren’t warm enough. So if like me you are in the need for that perfect transitional winter to Spring jacket may I suggest this one? What I love most about this Wilfred jacket is the classy cut. The plaid gives the jacket a somewhat casual feel which is great for dressing it down. It also comes in a red and black plaid as well. And most importantly, it is currently on sale at Aritzia. Stay tuned to the blog for a more dressier outfit using this same jacket.
Stay warm my friends

This is a great jacket, it’ll work perfect for transitional weather. I bought a similar light tartan coat. I plan to wear it a lot this Spring. In fact, I have already started wearing it.
Lovely snow photos, you look beautiful.
