The first time I tried MorrocanOil was just a little over a year ago. And it wasn’t even for my own hair! My hubby has long curly locks that are just gorgeous…but they’re also quite dry, frizzy and a bit unruly at times.
Over the years I heard many great things about caring for dry hair with argan oil. In fact, I had always wanted to use it in my own hair to reap some of the benefits. But because my hair is so fine and limp I simply couldn’t justify putting oil in my hair. That being said, I went out and purchased a bottle of MoroccanOil Treatment for Shane’s hair.
The MoroccanOil worked wonders on Shane’s hair. Not only did it immediately tame the frizz but it also defined his curls. And all without leaving his hair overly greasy afterwards. The more he used the oil over time the nicer his hair became. Having felt the argan oil while applying it to his hair it seemed rather lightweight and quick absorbing for an oil. After seeing how beautiful the MoroccanOil made Shane’s hair I decided to give it a shot on my own hair.
Now mind you, Shane has very thick, course and frizzy hair – the complete opposite of mine. So where for him I would use 3-4 pumps of the oil, for myself I used only half a pump, on freshly washed damp hair. Likewise I noticed an improvement right away. The argan oil made combing through my bird’s nest of tangles much more manageable. After drying, my hair remained tangle free which is a big deal for me. It was also silky smooth with a natural shine to it.
I typically apply the MoroccanOil treatment to my hair when damp staying away from the roots. But if your hair is thicker you could very well use it on dry hair as well. Because the MoroccanOil is perfect for restoring moisuture to dry hair it’s a great finishing product for thicker hair. For instance I use this in Shane’s hair when it is dry and it works amazing to define his curls and make them manageable.
The Mending Infusion is filled with vitamins and mends split ends. This lightweight argan oil formula is also packed with quinoa proteins to nourish, condition and strengthen hair. It works to tame frizz while preventing further damage and is great for fixing dry ends.
Perfect Defense is a weightless dry aerosol that is essentially a heat protective spray. This argan oil is filled with vitamins to re-hydrate the hair while protecting against the damaging effects of heat styling up to 450⁰F/230⁰C. I don’t use heated tools too often but it’s great to know that my locks will be protected when I do.
If you have fine hair like me I’m sure you understand the struggle of getting it into a proper topknot or messy bun after it’s been freshly washed. Next to impossible right? For the last photo in this post I wasn’t even going to try and compete with hubby’s hair so I thought it would be cute to put it into a topknot. But since my hair had been freshly washed it was actually impossible to do. No matter how many times I tried. And then I realized that I hadn’t tried the Dry Texture Spray yet.
Talk about next level! The spray instantly added a gritty feel and texture to my hair. But most amazingly it instantly transformed my freshly washed hair into second day hair. And just like that I was able to do a topknot. The Dry Texture Spray (also argan oil based) is made up of particles that form a bond between the hairs. This creates that gritty texturized grip making it perfect for braids and updos.
The Restorative Hair Mask is great for repairing damaged hair. The treatment infuses protein back into the strands to repair chemical or heat styling damage. The mask also contains argan oil as well as shea butter and reparative proteins. These ingredients work to restore the hair’s natural elasticity and rebuild strength from the inside out. I always knew that caring for dry hair with argan oil would have great benefits, but trying these out actually exceeded my expectations. In fact, it’s so good that at times I have to hide my MoroccanOil or else you know who will use it all up and leave me without any.
